Karakta - Rebirth Edition - Celebrating African Character.

About the Rebirth Edition

KARAKTA — Rebirth Edition looks at African character as something alive and constantly evolving. Bringing together fashion, film makeup, performance, and visual storytelling, the edition explores how identity is carried, remembered, and reimagined today.

African character lives in resilience, creativity, community, pride, and the quiet confidence with which people move through the world. It shows up in posture, clothing, gesture, craft, and the stories people choose to tell. At KARAKTA, character is not explained. It is embodied.

Across the continent and the diaspora, artists are returning to cultural memory and inherited aesthetics, reshaping them into their own expressions.

Through runway presentations, workshops, curated exhibitions, film screenings and pop‑up markets, KARAKTA — Rebirth Edition brings together creative voices reflecting on African identity and culture in motion.
